When you buy a Jayawaham book through WhatsApp or Instagram, we need a few details to take your order, deliver it and send you a bill. This page explains exactly what those are, why we need them, who else sees them, and how you can have them deleted. We keep it short and plain on purpose.
1. Who we are
Jayawaham Consultancy Private Limited ("Jayawaham", "we", "us") is a company registered in India (CIN U73100KA2025PTC202792). We make and sell premium Indian-language board books for little ones. This policy covers our shop: our WhatsApp number +91 94424 06464, our Instagram account @jayawaham, and the pages on jayawaham.org that take orders. Our separate device app has its own policy at jayawaham.org/privacy.
2. What we collect
- Your name and WhatsApp number — shared by WhatsApp when you message us.
- Our conversation — the messages you send us and our replies, so we can answer you and keep track of your order.
- Your delivery address — including the PIN code, and a recipient's name and address if the book is a gift.
- Your order — what you bought, the price, the bill we issue, and its delivery status.
- Payment status — whether your payment succeeded, its reference number and amount. We never see or store your card, UPI PIN or bank details; those stay with the payment provider.
- How you use our web pages — on jayawaham.org we record how visitors move through our pages (which cards they see, how far they scroll, how long they stay, which buttons they tap), with your device type and IP address, so we can find what confuses people and fix it. Nothing you type is recorded. We delete this after 13 months.
- Which ad brought you to us — if you tapped one of our Instagram ads, WhatsApp tells us which ad it was, so we know which ads are useful.
We do not collect information about children. Our books are for little ones; our customers are the adults who buy them.
3. Why we use it
- To take your order, deliver it, and tell you where it is.
- To issue your bill and keep the records Indian tax and company law require.
- To answer your questions and fix any problem, for example replacing a damaged book.
- To remember your address for next time — only if you choose to save it.
- To send you news or offers — only if you have said yes, and you can say stop at any time.
4. Who else sees it
Only the services we need to run the shop, each for its own part of the job:
- Meta (WhatsApp, Instagram) — carries our messages and ads.
- Meta (ads) — when you buy after tapping one of our ads, we tell Meta that a purchase happened, its value, and a scrambled (hashed) form of your phone number, so Meta can show our ads to people likely to find them useful. Meta cannot read your number from it. You can ask us to stop at any time.
- Razorpay — takes your payment.
- Meta Pixel — on jayawaham.org, tells Meta that a visitor viewed our book page, tapped to order on WhatsApp, or opened checkout, using a Meta cookie in your browser, so we can measure our ads and show them to people who have visited us. It does not record anything you type.
- Our delivery partners — Shiprocket and the courier it assigns (for example Blue Dart, Delhivery or Xpressbees), or Amazon Shipping — deliver your book (your name, phone and address).
- Zoho Books — our accounts, where your bill is recorded.
- Supabase and Google Cloud — host our order records and systems, in Mumbai, India.
- We may use an AI assistant (Google Gemini) to help answer your messages quickly. Your messages are sent to it only to write a reply, and are not used to train its models.
We share information with the government only when the law requires it.
5. How long we keep it
- Bills and payment records — for as long as Indian tax and company law require us to keep them (currently up to eight years).
- Order and delivery details — for as long as you are a customer, and for up to two years after your last order, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- Our WhatsApp conversation — for up to two years, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
6. Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to see the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or withdraw your consent to marketing. You can also nominate someone to act for you. To delete your data, see jayawaham.org/privacy/data-deletion. If you are not happy with how we handled a request, write to our Grievance Officer below; you may also complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
7. Keeping it safe
Your information is stored in India, in systems that only our shop software and our team can reach, with access limited to what each part of the job needs.
8. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change matters to you, we will tell you on WhatsApp.
